Junior Violin Summer Camp
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3-4pm in June and July.
Classes will meet in the Upper School Music Room St. Paul Christian Academy
*Violins will be provided for each student. No Classes the week of July 4th*
Junior Violin Camp is open to any rising K through 2nd grade SPCA student who would like to learn to play the violin and join the Saints Ensemble next school year! This camp will be rooted in traditional and classic methods and mixed together with lots of fun games. Violin students learn the basics of posture, bow-hold technique, and tone production. Students will work together on foundational skills. Students will learn how to read formal music notation, all while learning how to play the violin! Class focus will include intonation and age-appropriate sight-reading, and the development of rhythmic independence, phrasing, and overall musicality through movement,
singing, and playing. Students will gain valuable experiences exploring and playing music with others.
SPCA violin camps will showcase a short performance for family and friends at the end of the summer semester. A generous SPCA parent has graciously donated violins to use!
Class begins June 7th; No classes the week of July 4th.
