Violin Summer Camp

Violin Summer Camp

Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4-5:30pm in June and July.

Classes will meet in the Upper School Music Room St. Paul Christian Academy

*Violins will be provided for each student. No Classes the week of July 4th*

Violin Camp is open to any rising 3rd through 6th-grade SPCA student who would like to learn to play the violin. This camp is also open to students who have previously studied the violin. All camp students will be eligible to join the Saints Ensemble next school year! Students will learn fundamentals of violin sound production and how to read formal music notation. Curriculum is rooted in traditional and classic methods and mixed together with fun activities. Class will focus on sight-reading, rhythmic independence, and language development, along with phrasing and overall musicality. This class will also focus on playing with others. Collaborative performing gives students the necessary skills of listening and communicating with other musicians.

SPCA violin camps will showcase a short performance for family and friends at the end of the summer semester. A generous SPCA parent has graciously donated violins to use!

Class begins June 7th; No classes the week of July 4th.
